Apart from the IIMs over 100 B-schools in India conduct their admission through CAT scores. Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted by Indian Institute Of Management (IIMs) for admission to Post Graduate Programmes and Fellow Programmes with sectoral programmes on Agricultural and Rural Development, Energy and Power, Human Settlements and Environment, Population and Health, Transportation and Education Management at IIM Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bodh Gaya, Calcutta, Indore, Jammu, Kashipur, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Sambalpur, Shillong, Sirmaur, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur, Visakhapatnam. Admission Policy of IIMs : Each IIM admits students independently. The Common admission test (CAT) is conducted jointly by IIMs. However, each IIM follows its own admission process, independent of the other IIMs. It should be noted that performance in CAT is one of several inputs used by IIMs to judge the suitability of a candidate, first for group discussion and/or interview and then for final selection. The IIM to which the candidate has applied, evaluates the candidate in each of a set of different areas of achievement, including CAT performance. Click Here For CAT Online Preparation Free Mock Test CAT 2023 ELIGIBILITY CAT Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. However, it may be noted that such CAT candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/Institution (issued on or before the date as stipulated by the respective IIM) stating that they have completed all the requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate. Common Admission Test Candidates applying for CAT 2023 should fulfill any one of the following conditions: â—Ź Completed Bachelor’s degree with the required percentage of marks*. â—Ź Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with required percentage*. â—Ź Should be in the final year of Bachelor’s degree with required percentage*. *SC/ST/PwD candidates should have a minimum 45%. For General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates, the minimum is 50%. The percentage of marks obtained by the CAT candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the respective University/Institution. In case of grades/CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/Institution. If any University/Institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100. IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are provided at the website www.iimcat.ac.in. CAT Applicants should note that the mere fulfilment of the minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by IIMs. CAT Candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a phone number throughout the selection process. Reservation in CAT 2023 Entrance Exam: As per the legal requirements, 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. 27% of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the non-creamy layer (NC-OBC). Up to 10% of the seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates and 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD). CAT 2023 ADMISSION PROCESS : The selection process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). Performance in the CAT 2023 examination is an important component in the admission process. IIMs may additionally use other factors such as the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, gender and academic diversity and other similar inputs in shortlisting and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process. The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs. For more information, refer to the admissions policies of individual IIMs on their respective websites. CAT 2023 RESULTS AND SHORTLISTING: Information related to the CAT 2023 results will be tentatively available starting from the second week of January 2024 on CAT website. The list of CAT candidates shortlisted for the next level of selection will be made available on the website of the respective IIMs. Each IIM will send interview letters to the shortlisted candidates directly. CAT 2023 TEST CENTRES : CAT will be conducted in centres spread across around 158 test cities. At the time of registration, the candidates have to select any Six Test Cities as per their preference from the drop down menu. PAYMENT OF CAT 2023 REGISTRATION FEE : Rs.1200 for SC, ST and PwD category CAT candidates. Please note that a CAT candidate needs to pay registration fee only once, irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying for SC, ST and PwD candidates must upload a copy of their SC/ST/PwD certificates at the time of registration. Fee once paid cannot be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates must pay the registration fee through online payment modes only, which will include credit cards, debit cards and netbanking.
